Unmanned Systems
At the forefront of technological innovation in public safety, the Florida Forensic Institute for Research, Security, and Tactics (F1RST) is proud to introduce its state-of-the-art Unmanned Systems facility.
This pioneering venture is dedicated to the advancement of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technology, which has transitioned from military exclusivity to becoming indispensable in diverse public safety operations. Our facility, which includes the largest public safety focused indoor drone facility in Florida, outdoor rubble piles and forensic fields, and more, focuses on the exponential growth and application of UAS across crucial areas such as incident reconstruction, search and rescue, critical incident response, crowd monitoring, and emergency operations.
Recognizing the need for continuous advancement in this rapidly evolving field, F1RST has established a cutting-edge environment where technology meets practical application. The facility is a hub for innovation, created through a synergistic public-private partnership aimed at delivering top-tier education and skill development. Here, participants engage with the latest drone technologies and high-tech robotics, learning to leverage these tools to enhance public safety effectively.
F1RST's training programs cover extensive hands-on training and development of advanced techniques, fostering an educational landscape where theoretical knowledge is seamlessly integrated with practical skills. This dynamic approach ensures that our trainees are not only prepared to use UAS technology but are also pioneers of its integration into modern public safety strategies.

The Unmanned Systems facility at F1RST is more than just a training ground; it is a gateway to future opportunities in technology and public safety. Through collaborations with industry leaders and technical experts, we offer an unparalleled platform for professional growth and innovation. Trainees leave our programs equipped with the expertise to operate advanced UAS and contribute to the safety and efficiency of public safety operations across Florida and beyond.
