Pasco County, FL – The Florida’s Forensic Institute for Research, Security, and Tactics (F1RST), in partnership with Saint Leo University, is accepting registrations for the upcoming cohort of the Executive Leadership Institute's Command Officer Management Program. This prestigious program is designed specifically for active-duty law enforcement leaders, supervisors, and command staff, both civilian and sworn, from agencies across the country, aiming to equip them with the critical knowledge, management skills, and leadership capabilities required to excel in today’s complex criminal justice environment.
This program offers participants an accredited, advanced training experience that combines theoretical insights with practical applications, taught by faculty who possess both academic credentials and extensive criminal justice leadership experience. Participants in the program will earn 18 academic credits applicable toward undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral-level degrees. Saint Leo University, a recognized leader in Criminal Justice education and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), has been serving public safety professionals for over 45 years.
The 2025 Command School is structured to provide a convenient, flexible, and cost-effective approach to leadership training. Program highlights include:
Blended Virtual and On-Campus Delivery: Online classes are scheduled from January 20 through June 29, 2025, followed by a final in-person Senior Leadership Series at the Pasco County campus from July 7-11, 2025. This format reduces the need for travel and ensures minimal disruption to agency operations.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Courses cover essential topics, including Executive Leadership, Project and Financial Management, Criminal Justice Administration and Legal Issues, Organizational Design, and Strategic Management for Law Enforcement. The program concludes with a capstone project, allowing participants to apply learned principles to real-world agency challenges.
Affordable Tuition: The total program cost of $6,600 per participant includes all materials, credit hour fees, and graduation expenses. The remote structure significantly reduces additional expenses for meals, lodging, and travel.
The 2025 cohort will convene with an orientation on January 9, 2025, conducted via Zoom. The program has been tailored to meet the evolving needs of law enforcement agencies nationwide, enhancing participants' leadership skills and preparing them for higher responsibility within their departments.
