About

This three-day course is designed for law enforcement officers assigned to a unit where conducting surveillance is part of their assigned duties. Too often members are assigned to a specialized unit with little to no experience in surveillance techniques. Properly planned and executed surveillance missions greatly increase the probability of successful and important evidence gathering and follow-up on missions conducted against the targeted individual(s), as well as the arrest of the individual(s).

During this program students will participate in practical exercises utilizing different surveillance methods incorporating foot surveillance, as well as mobile vehicle surveillance. The practical exercise will be conducted in urban and rural environments where students will utilize the techniques learned.

Course curriculum includes the following surveillance topics:

•Definitions and purpose

•Planning and preparation

•Operator’s roles and responsibilities
