About

This course is intended to act as the follow-on basic level training once remote pilots have received their Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. It is equipped with three unique modes of instruction: Online, Classroom and Practical; and contains five modules: Pre-requisites and Refresher for Part 107, Public Safety UAS Overview, Basic Flight Maneuvering, Proficiency Testing and First Responder Missions.


The Fundamentals of UAS Maneuvering course consists of 12 hours of online learning, 4 hours of classroom-based learning, and 28 hour of skills-based flight testing. This training is meant to ensure all levels of UAS operators are up to the baseline standard to fly effectively for public safety departments.


The curriculum is structured by Learning Objectives, Scope, Methodology, Training Aids, Presentation, Content, Additional Resources and Reference Material. Each module will conclude with a Testing and Evaluation portion to ensure that remote pilots are retaining the knowledge…
