About
This 8-hour training day is built around real world crisis negotiation case studies presented by experienced practitioners from a variety of disciplines. Each presenter will walk participants through an actual incident from call-out to resolution, offering a candid look at decision-making, communication strategies, tactical integration, command considerations, and post-incident reflection.
Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, this course emphasizes processes and what worked, what did not, and why. Presenters will examine negotiation techniques, intelligence gathering, team dynamics, legal considerations, emotional regulation, and coordination with tactical, command, dispatch, and mental health partners. Critical decision points and turning moments will be explored in detail.
Participants can expect an honest, operationally grounded discussion of lessons learned, including mistakes, near-misses, and adjustments made in real time. This course is designed to sharpen judgment, strengthen inter-disciplinary collaboration, and reinforce the practical skills necessary to resolve high-risk incidents while prioritizing the preservation of life.
